Immigration Legal Services
Catholic Charities of Central Texas provides immigration legal services as a way to reunite families and promote self-sufficiency for immigrants through low-fee legal assistance in immigration matters before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.
Catholic Charities assists U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and immigrants with family reunification applications for lawful permanent residency, adjustment of status, and naturalization, and special assistance to immigrant survivors of domestic violence and other violent crimes.
Consultation and Client Fees
- $35 Initial consultation (Includes review of client eligibility for immigration benefits.)
- Additional fees will vary depending on type of specific service needed.
- Client fees are separate from those established by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for filling purposes
Eligibility
- Eligibility for benefits under the law is based upon current Immigration Legislation and/or the policies set forth by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.
- Individuals seeking assistance with immigration and/or citizenship inquiries are encouraged to schedule an initial consultation or to come on walk-ins' day.

- Applications relating to change of nonimmigrant status
- Travel documents
- Adjustment of status (green card applications)
- Refugee/asylee adjustment
- Naturalization and Citizenship
- Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of certain countries suffering from natural disasters
- Petitions under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) – legal relief for victims of domestic violence and other crimes (U Visas)
- Consular processing for immigrant visas
- Document Translation

Accreditation
Catholic Charities is recognized by the United States Board of Immigration Appeals. Attorneys and BIA accredited representatives are authorized to provide legal counsel to immigrants on their eligibility for immigration benefits under current immigration law.
